Among Our People

Find your people.
Find your place.

Homestays, rooms and flatshares with a roommate finder, co-housing, local friends, places to stay and professionals near you or online, all in one LGBTQ+ community. Wherever you are in life, it's easier with the right people around you, and you choose what that looks like.

However you want to live, you shouldn't have to feel alone.

One platform. Every stage of life.

Built for LGBTQ+ lives. At every stage of your life.

56%
of LGBTQ+ Londoners over 50 would choose to live in an LGBTQ+ community. Just 1% would consider a general retirement home.
19%
of LGBTQ+ private renters said they'd felt discriminated against because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
1 in 2
Around half of LGBTQ+ adults felt socially isolated at least some of the time, against three in ten straight adults.
0%
commission on any booking. Hosts keep what guests pay — on homestays, vacation rentals, cruises, tours and retreats alike.
Every other platform takes a cut. We don't.

Other booking sites take a cut from the host, the guest, or both. We take 0%. Hosts keep what guests pay. ✦

OUR PHILOSOPHY · COMPANY STATEMENT

Life is better when you find your people.

For a lot of us, finding our people has never been automatic. Sometimes we've had to build our own families, find our own places, and make the connections other people are handed.

The answer to loneliness was never more contact. It's a place at a table. A spare room in the right house. A trip you didn't take alone. A neighbour who already understands.

We have more ways to reach each other than ever, and somehow that hasn't fixed it. So we think technology should do something different — not hold your attention, but help you find real people, in real life.

That's what we're building. Flatshares, community living, companionship, travel, and a directory of our own trusted professionals — one place, for someone finding their first room at 24 and someone looking for people to grow older near at 68, in the same voice.

We make the introduction. You build the rest. ✦

“I wanted one place where an LGBTQ+ person could find a house, a room, a community, a friend, a homestay or a trip and feel comfortable from the first day.”

— Eric Crespin, founder

Verified and trusted
It all comes down to trust. Identity is confirmed through secure document checks. Professional accreditations go further — a real person reviews the certificate before any badge appears. And references come from the people who have actually lived with you, travelled with you or hired you.
Among Our People is a member of IGLTA, the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association.
Compatibility comes first
Where you are in life, how you live, what you're looking for: on other platforms those answers are, at best, another tick in a long form. Here they decide what you see — the people and places most likely to suit you come to you first, and we show you why.
The more you choose to tell us, the better we can match you.
Gender, orientation, where you are in life and how you like to live can all make your results more relevant. You decide what to share publicly, and you can change those choices at any time.
Worldwide from day one.
Among Our People is open wherever people join. We're concentrating first on building a strong base of flatshares in London, while the rest of the platform can grow anywhere.

We're in this for every chapter.

Among Our People is an LGBTQ+ community platform for homestays, rooms and flatshares, a roommate finder, co-housing, local friends, travel and a directory of professionals from the community. Eric Crespin founded it in 2026, and it's run from Barcelona. Creating a profile is free. On homestays, vacation rentals, retreats, tours and cruises, hosts keep what guests pay, because we take 0% commission. Professionals can list in their own area for free.

Loneliness doesn't belong to one age group. According to Meta-Gallup's 2022–23 survey across 142 countries, adults aged 19 to 29 reported more loneliness than people over 65. At the other end, AARP's 2024 survey of 2,212 LGBTQ+ Americans aged 45 and over found that 48% often or sometimes feel isolated. Both are broad surveys rather than the full picture, although the pattern is hard to miss. It starts with a profile, and that part is free.
