This Cookie Policy explains how Among Our People uses cookies and similar technologies on www.amongourpeople.com and on our landing sites (including findagayflatmate.co.uk and findalocalgayfriend.com), and how you can control them. Read together with our Privacy Policy. Under Spain's LSSI-CE and EU ePrivacy rules, we need your consent before setting any cookie that isn't strictly necessary for the Platform to function.
Small text files placed on your device when you visit a website, letting the site remember information such as your login state or preferences. We also use similar technologies like browser local storage.
"Strictly necessary": required for the Platform to work (authentication/session, security, load-balancing) — no consent required, but disclosed here for transparency. "Functional": remember your preferences to improve your experience — require consent where not strictly necessary. "Analytics": help us understand how the Platform is used, in aggregate — require consent where not strictly necessary. We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) for this, set only after you accept analytics cookies. We do not use it to record your screen or sessions. "Third-party / embedded service cookies": Stripe (payment and identity verification flows, fraud prevention) and Google Maps (when a map loads on a listing page) — these providers act as independent controllers for cookies they set directly.
Where required, we ask via a cookie banner on your first visit, letting you accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise by category. Non-essential cookies are not set until you consent. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking all cookies may affect your ability to use parts of the Platform, including staying logged in.
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes; the "last updated" date will reflect the latest version.
